Somehow downloaded iminent, have been through my computer and deleted anything that I can find that relates to it, even recent programmes but on firefox when I go to a new tab it still comes up
Any advice warmly welcomed.

If you have already removed iminent adware from your computer and the only problem are new tabs in Mozilla Firefox:
Open Mozilla Firefox
In the URL address bar (the place where you type in webpage addresses, for example google.com, etc.) , type about:config and press Enter.
Click "I'll be careful, I promise!".
In the search filter at the top, type: "iminent"
Right-click on the found preferences and select "Reset" to restore default values (in your case it should be "browser.newtab.url", but be sure to reset all preferences that are related to iminent).
Restart Mozilla Firefox.
This should solve your problem.
