Hi, I have a strange virus on my computer, when i visit facebook i see various ads which shouldn't be there. There's also a text "ads not by this site" at the bottom of the ads. I have tried scanning my computer with AVG however it doesn't find any viruses. What should i do?

Hi effing, "ads not by this site" unwanted ads which appear in various popular websites (Google, Facebook, Wikipedia, etc.) are caused by potentially unwanted applications (browser add-ons) which are being distributed together with free software. Technically "ads not by this site" is not a virus it's related to adware. Notice that you shouldn't click on these ads as they may lead to some serious malware infections. To eliminate this adware you should first uninstall any potentially unwanted programs from your Control Panel, then remove unwanted browser add-ons.
